ScriptLab is a scriptwriting programme for professional writer/directors developing a script for a feature film. The selected projects are in an early stage of development. The workshop is divided into three residential modules and three online modules between April and November 2023. At the end of the eight-month process, there will be a first or already second script version of the project.

The programme accepts 16 projects that are in a treatment phase. The projects are divided into four groups, each led by an experienced script consultant as tutor. The projects are further developed in the group for 8 months.

ScriptLab also offers Masterclasses for the participants to meet with industry professionals to discuss different topics: the role of the creative producer in early development, contemporary choices for production and distribution with a focus on digital alternatives, the craft of oral storytelling and working towards a climate-conscious film industry.

The projects will be presented at the TFL Meeting Event in November 2024 to an audience of international producers, sales agents and other film industry professionals.

Thanks to FOCAL’s partnership, one scriptwriter from Switzerland will be selected for the programme and will benefit from a 50% discount on the regular participation fee of 2500 Euro. 
Note: If a co-writer will attend the workshop as well, an additional fee of 2000 Euro will be charged.

3rd module: 9th – 13th September 2024 (online)

4th module: 28th October – 1st November 2024 (online)
